Meet Aaron and Vanessa Hayes

Local Advocates of Farming, Family, and Food

Vanessa Hayes: A Local with a Passion for Locally-Sourced Food

Vanessa Hayes may not have grown up on a farm, but she's always had a deep appreciation for supporting local businesses and knowing exactly where her food comes from. With a background in senior living healthcare, she has spent years caring for people in their later stages of life. Food, thanks to her chef father, has been a cornerstone of her upbringing. She learned the value of eating locally and supporting local producers from an early age. Now, as a mother, her curiosity about the origins of our food and its impact on our lives has grown stronger than ever.

Aaron Hayes: A Farmer at Heart with a Background in Oilfields

Aaron Hayes, on the other hand, has been around animals and agriculture since his early days. Chickens, pigs, ducks – you name it, he's had experience with it. He also spent time working in the oilfields, but when he and Vanessa started a family, they realized the importance of spending quality time together. That's when they decided to embark on a journey into farming. They began with bees, then moved on to goats, chickens, and ducks. Today, their focus is on pasture-raised meats and building a vibrant community around it.

Our Passion: Supporting Local Food and Community

Aaron and Vanessa are truly excited about the potential to make a positive impact on the food supply chain and the community they call home. Through their experiences and dedication, they aim to educate people about healthier food choices, sustainable farming processes, food quality, and understanding the intricacies of the supply chain. Their goal is to inspire young people to embrace homesteading, farming, and everything in between. For the Hayes family, farming isn't just a job; it's a way of life.
